Krsna’s body does not change

Speaker:  Srila Prabhupada
Source: We Are Controlled

When Arjuna asked Krsna, Krsna said, imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam (BG. 4.1). Krsna said that, “First of all, I narrated this yoga system of Bhagavad-gita to the sun-god.” So, in order to clear this matter, Arjuna inquired from Him: “My dear Krsna, we are born very recently. How is that You narrated this yoga system to the sun-god?” Arjuna, of course, knew everything, but in order to clear our doubts, he raised this question. And Krsna answered that “You were also present at that time, but you have forgotten.

God cannot be impersonal

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada
Source: We Are Controlled

The creation is from a person, not from the impersonal feature of the Absolute Truth. Creation, there must be brain; otherwise how there is question of creation? We are part and parcel of Krsna. We are…, we have also creative power. So as soon as there is question of creative power, there must be a brain behind the creation, and brain means a person. Creation cannot be possible from void or impersonal thing. We have several times discussed this point, that the government, this word, appears to be impersonal, but

SB-1.2.28-29: Vasudeva – Our ultimate goal

SB 1.1 1978 Plate 12-iSB 1.2.28-29: In the revealed scriptures, the ultimate object of knowledge is Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Personality of Godhead. The purpose ofperforming sacrifice is to please Him. Yoga is for realizing Him. All fruitive activities are ultimately rewarded by Him only. He is supreme knowledge, and all severe austerities are performed to know Him. Religion [dharma] is rendering loving service unto Him. He is the supreme goal of life.

That Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Personality of Godhead, is the only object of worship is confirmed in these two ślokas. In the Vedic literature there is the same objective: establishing one’s relationship and ultimately reviving our lost loving service unto Him. That is the sum and substance of the Vedas. In the Bhagavad-gītā the same theory is confirmed by the Lord in His own words: the ultimate purpose of the Vedas is to know Him only.

Three phases of the Absolute truth

Speaker:  Srila Prabhupada
Source: Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.2.28–29, Nov. 8, 1972, Vrindavana

krishna-leela-series-part-15-prayers-offered-by-lord-brahma-to-lord-krishna-part-2-6-728The Absolute Truth is one. One who knows the Absolute Truth, he knows that Brahman, Paramatma, Bhagavan, the same objective, but they are realized by different devotees or different knower in different features. The example is given in this connection: Just like if you see from a very distant place one hill, you’ll find just like a cloud, hazy cloud. If you push forward further you’ll find something green. But when you actually approach the hill, you’ll find there are many

The Lord is always transcendental

Source: SB 1.2.28-29

635726511513984901-AFP-542640207-74538690Lord Viṣṇu, or Vāsudeva, is always transcendentally situated. Even though He accepts the quality of goodness of the material world, He is still transcendental to all the material modes. The following example will clear that matter more explicitly. In the prison house there are the prisoners and the managers of the prison house. Both the managers and the prisoners are bound by the laws of the king. But even though the king sometimes comes in the prison, he is not bound by the

Love of Krsna

Speaker:  Srila Prabhupada
Source: Devotee Doesn’t Want Anything

krishna_26_fullJust like Caitanya Mahaprabhu teaches: aslisya va pada-ratam pinastu mam marma-hatam karotu va adarsanat. A devotee desires to see Krsna. But he says: “I don’t mind if You break my heart by not being present. I don’t mind. You break my heart.” Because a devotee is always anxious to see Krsna. Just like Radharani. She’s always anxious to see Krsna. But Krsna does not come. Just like Krsna left all the gopis, immediately went to Mathura. Renouncement. So much

Come to Krsna and you will be saved

Speaker:  Srila Prabhupada

Nityananda-Prabhu-3Mumuksavo ghora-rupan. We are therefore restricting not to worship any other. Therefore when I started this mission many friends advised me “Why don’t you make it ‘God consciousness’?” This is bogus, God consciousness. “Krsna consciousness.” Otherwise, they’ll put so many gods. “Here is another god, here is another god, here is another god, here is another god, here is another incarnation, here is another avatara,” all nonsense. Place actual who is God. Krsnas tu bhagavan svayam. Narayana-kalah santah. So try to understand our mission.

Envious of Krsna

Speaker:  Srila Prabhupada
Source: People Are Being Killed

krishna-syamasundara_1As it is mentioned: narayana-kalah santa bhajanti hy anasuyavah. Anasuyava. Asuya. Asuya means envious. Just like when we present Krsna, especially in India… This botheration is not there in other countries, outside India, because they had no information. I have placed before them that “Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You are searching after God. Here is God. Here is God’s name, here is God’s address, here is God’s activities. You try to understand God. Why you are speculating?”

Krsna is self-effulgent

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada
Source: Paltry research work

lord-krishna4263Here we get the information. Why should we take so much trouble? Krsna says aham adir hi devanam: “I am the original of all demigods.” Just like Brahma. Brahma is the first demigod within this universe, but he is not original. Original is Krsna. Aham adir hi devanam maharsinam. So He says that He is the adi, adi-purusam. Brahma says adi-purusam, the original person. Govindam adi-purusam tam aham bhajami **. So He’s the adi-purusa, He’s the original source. Every Vedic literature declares, every

I cannot grant you immortality

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada

Brahma-approaches-HiranyakashipuHiranyakasipu wanted to become immortal, so he underwent such severe penances that the whole universe trembled. Lord Brahma had to come to pacify him “What do you want?”

Hiranyakasipu said, “I want to become immortal!”

Lord Brahma replied, “Although I have a very long duration of life, even I am not immortal, so I cannot grant you immortality.”

So although Brahma lives for trillions of years, still he has to die. Wherever you go within this material world, either in

Desire-PicIf you want, nature will give you facility. Prakrteh kriyamanani gunaih karmani sarvasah [Bg. 3.27]. Prakrti means nature. He’s giving, by nature. Just like, if you infect, if you become infected with some disease, so you’ll get that disease. It is nature’s way. If you touch fire, your finger will be burned. Not that nature has to make a particular arrangement. By nature it is there. Similarly, if you remain like cats and dogs, then by nature you’ll get

The most attractive one

Source: Chapter 16, Nectar of Devotion

gopi_krishnaThe story of the sages of Daṇḍakāraṇya can be explained as follows. When Lord Rāmacandra was residing in Daṇḍakāraṇya, the sages who were engaged in devotional service there became attracted by His beauty and immediately thought of the gopīs at Vṛndāvana, who enjoyed conjugal loving affection with Kṛṣṇa. In this instance it is clear that the sages of Daṇḍakāraṇya desired conjugal love in the manner of the gopīs, although they were well aware of the Supreme Lord as both Kṛṣṇa and Lord Rāmacandra. They knew that although
