Krsna sees the intent

Speaker: Radhanath Swami
Source: Gratitude in all situations

Gopis-of-VrindavanKrsna tells us in the Gita, that our real happiness should not be in the results of what we do, but in the quality of the consciousness in which we do it. Krishna tells Arjuna do not be attached to victory or defeat, success or failure, pleasure or pain, honor and dishonor, be attached to dharma. The Highest dharma is bhakti. yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi, yaj juhoṣi dadāsi yat , Whatever you do, do it for my pleasure, Krsna says. It

Remembering Krsna always

Speaker: Radhanath Swami

This verse “Om apavithra” signifies the essence of human life, the essence of initiation. green-kri-300x205“Whether one is pure or impure, one who remembers lotus eyed Supreme Lord Sri Krsna becomes purified both within and without “. This verse says one who remembers Krsna even while passing through all different types of situations. Commitment is important. Just like the commitment of the mother to the child. Sometimes the child laughs and smiles and gives her lot of happiness, sometimes the child may really

Devotee is more kind than the Lord

Source: BG 3.29 Purport

PrabhupadaMen who are ignorant cannot appreciate activities in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and therefore Lord Kṛṣṇa advises us not to disturb them and simply waste valuable time. But the devotees of the Lord are more kind than the Lord because they understand the purpose of the Lord. Consequently, they undertake all kinds of risks, even to the point of approaching ignorant men to try to engage them in the acts of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, which are absolutely necessary for the human being.

Mrgari hunter and Narada muni

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada
Source: Devotional Desire

Narada Muni and MrgariIn this connection I shall recite one historical incident from the Puranas. There was a hunter in Prayag. Prayag, as you know, is in Allahabad. He kept hunting in the forest indiscriminately. Once, Narada Muni was passing through the jungle and felt very compassionate towards the animals who were half-dead and half-killed by the hunter. Narada Muni, being a Vaisnava, was very kind to all living entities.

Equal to all but partial to devotees

Krishna-with-friendsBG 9.29: I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him. One may question here that if Krsna is equal to everyone and no one is His special friend, then why does He take a special interest in the devotees who are always engaged in His transcendental service?

  1. This is not discrimination; it is natural.
  2. Lord reciprocates according to how one approaches him - (ye yathā māṁ prapadyante tāṁs tathaiva bhajāmy ahamBG 4.11)

Yoga-ksemam vahamy aham – I personally deliver

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada
Source: Heavenly Planets-Temporary Happiness

krishna-and-his-pure-devotee-srila-prabhupadaThere was a great devotee. His name was Arjunacarya. So when he was writing commentaries on this particular sloka, verse, he saw that teṣāṁ nityābhiyuktānāṁ yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham (BG 9.22), the Lord says that “I myself take the burden and take the load on my head, and I deliver them to my devotees, what they require, what they require. He doesn’t require to go outside. I myself go and deliver the goods, whatever he requires.” This is written here.

Lord’s protection from death

Source: SB 7.10.29

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA“Everyone is sure to die, for no one is excused from the hands of death, which is but a feature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead: mrtyu sarva-haras caham [Bg. 10.34]). When one becomes a devotee, however, he is not destined to die according to a limited duration of life. Everyone has a limited duration of life, but a devotee’s lifetime can be extended by the mercy of the Supreme Lord, who is able to nullify the results of one’s karma: karmani nirdahati

Srila Prabhupada stroke on Jaladuta

Speaker: Srila Prabhupada

Krsna Prabhupada JaladutaAs Prabhupāda sat in his hotel room that evening with a few disciples at his feet, he reminisced about how he had come to America in 1965 and had suffered two heart attacks at sea. “They say that anyone who gets a third heart attack,” said Prabhupāda, “they must expire. I had two attacks on the ship, and then in New York a third one-paralyzed. Left side was paralyzed. I do not know how I was saved. And one

yamuna_04On Memorial Day, May 30, 1967 in New York, Srila Prabhupada suffered a stroke in New York. The prognosis was grave.

Yamuna: Swamiji had sent us a telegram which said, “If you pray to Lord Jagannatha, and if He hears your prayers, I will stay; otherwise I may go.”

Srila Prabhupada taught the devotees in New York the prayers to Lord Nrsimhadeva and asked them to request the Lord to allow him to remain alive longer to spread the

SB 1.1.20–23: Hearing as a sacrifice

SB 1.1.20: Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Personality of Godhead, along with Balarāma, played like a human being, and so masked He performed many superhuman acts.

The Lord exhibited His divinity even from the lap of His mother, that His deeds are all superhuman (He lifted Govardhana Hill at the age of seven), and that all these acts definitely prove Him to be actually the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Yet, due to His mystic covering, He was always accepted as an ordinary human child by His so-called father and mother and other relatives. Whenever some herculean task was performed by Him, the father and mother took it otherwise. And they remained satisfied with unflinching parental love for their son. As such, the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya describe Him as apparently resembling a human being, but actually He is the supreme almighty Personality of Godhead.

How to receive mercy?

Speaker: Radhanath Swami
Source: Pure devotional service

bookdistrubutionOne time Srila Prabhupada was asked, “what can we do to reciprocate with what you have given us?”. What Srila Prabhupada replied is simple and complete. He said “just receive what I have given you and share it with each other and others”. The first part, to receive what Srila Prabhupada has given us is something deeper than the ocean, higher than the sky in the universe, he has given us the spiritual world, he has given us Goloka Vrindavana, he has
